Reward them but.. to a Limit!

Maybe one of the common advices that you hear everyday as a teacher is to reward your students when they perform good job or follow your instructions. Everyone will tell you that Rewarding students is important for thier motivation and to engage them in the learning process. Actually this is true, but when it is done the right way. You have to make a balance between the two opposites: Reward and Punishment!

When your students -especially young students- expect a reward for every single activity, they will end up with no engagment to any activity unless they have a reward! Actually rewarding them this way will eventually kill thier spontaneous desire to learn or to engage in learning.

This great tip is inspired by a great article I found in enliven-ed.com, and I would like to share it with you.
