I have just started reading the book after the last scheduled in my reading list for this month and I must say that this is the best of the titles I am reading in June. The Rise of the Network Society: The Information Age: Economy, Society, and Culture is the first in Castells’ ground-breaking trilogy. It is an account of the economic and social dynamics of the new age of information. Based on research in the USA, Asia, Latin America, and Europe, it aims to formulate a systematic theory of the information society which takes account of the fundamental effects of information technology on the contemporary world.
The book is jargon rich and it sent me searching in Google in several instances. I will soon share with you a review once I finish reading it. However, today as I was googling something related to the concept of the information society that Castell was talking about in his book I came across this beautiful graphic labelled the networked teacher. I fell in love with it from the first sight. To me it really sum up the state of connectedness that every teacher should be in. Have a look and share with us what you think of it. Enjoy
